The Council was established in 1966 as a council of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education.

The Council was established in 1966 as a council of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) (FEIN 54-1552617) and is a 501.c.3. (FEIN 54-1552617). NCADAE remains a major voice for adult education and literacy in Washington. The purpose of NCSDAE shall be:
Your sponsorship supports these activities of the Council as well as the annual National Training Institute co-hosted with the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium (NAEPDC)—the professional development arm of the State Directors. Attached is the Sponsorship Plan identifying the benefits and opportunities for each level. Benefits include the following: Subscriptions: The Council produces electronic news letters related to Congressional and Administrative actions. As a bonus, sponsors will receive the Consortium electronic newsletter, News, Views, and Clues.
New Web Site: The State Directors’ Council new web site (www.ncsdae.org) is quickly becoming the State Directors’ source for policy and legislative resources. Your sponsorship will allow this web site to expand its resources and impact. Your link on this web site will ensure that State Directors can get to you as quickly as possible. National Training Institute: Each November, on the Wednesday through Saturday after election day, the Council and the Consortium host a National Training Institute for 80 to 100 State Directors and their staff members. Sponsorship options include:
Membership Categories: The Sponsorship Plan categories offer a number of options for your organization depending on the level of support. Note that the Copper category offers the public organizations the opportunity to direct their sponsorship to non-advocacy expenditures. Sponsorships run from July 1 through June 30.
